Roadtrip Gibraltar ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฎ, Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

Traveling back to #France๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ต started with a delay in #Spain๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ, of course. The ferry company hadn’t informed us about a change in schedule and because we went via Tenerife and due to terrible weather we arrived a good 11h later than planned. This meant we went straight to #Gibraltar๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฎ, the big rock at the end of Spain, that somehow belongs to the UK, and according to legend, it will stay this way as long as the Barbary Apes (a type of macaque monkey) live there ๐Ÿ’ We didn’t have a whole lot of time but still decided do a really nice hike up to the incredible St Michael’s caves and of course you can’t go to Britain without eating fish and chips.
The next day we visited the #Alhambra in #Granada and drove on to Valencia where we spent 2 days, visiting yet another World Heritage Site, while getting surprised by the Fallas Festival fireworks in the middle of the day – poor Ziggy ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿถ After a long drive up through the middle of nowhere we arrived just in time at the somewhat unknown Bardenas Reales National Park between Zaragoza and San Sebastian featuring sandstone cliffs and phallic shaped rock formations. On the last night of the road trip we ate way too much pizza in Bordeaux and I only had something to eat the following evening back in Nantes, where I spent about a week before setting off again #feb2023 #mar2024
